7:14 AM 9/23/2009: Hidden Program Installs...
I got a phone call from an old customer asking why the google toolbar was installed into his browser.
After asking the usualy questions (like, did you install it?) we figured out that a game he downloaded added it for him.
I find it funny that things we would never let happen in the "real world", happen all the time in "cyberspace". If you bought a car and it installed a ad ticker going across your TV screen you would freak out. But in computerland you grab a game and for some reason it's ok to change the way you surf the net?
And I am sorry but I do not think that a little checkmark buried on page 15 of the EULA is fair warning that your system is going to be changed.
Nuff said.
