RenoGeek's Computer Terms Glossary - Access
Microsoft Access is a very popular database application. Access allows the making of custom databases that store information in a structure orginized by the user. Access provides for a visual interface to create custom forms and tables. Data created with Access can then be entered into a database using either visual forms or a spreadsheet type of interface. this information can then be accessed from other programs and some Web services.
Access is a proprietary database management system but it is compatible with other database programs since it supports Open Database Connectivity. Many websites hosted on Microsoft Windows servers use Access databases for generating content.
