Adware is a type of free software (in most cases) that is supported by ads. Most are free to use, but require you to watch advertisements or launch popups once the program is open.
Some adware is safe to use, but others can serve as spyware, gathering information about you and your computer use habits. Always be careful what adware you install on your computer and make sure it is from a reputable company.
