RenoGeek's Computer Terms Glossary - Bounced

The term "bounced" is most often used when a email comes back to you because it could not be delivered.

When you sending email the mail server processes the message and delivers it to the user's mailbox. For example, if you send a message to "me@you.com" the mail server looks for a user named "me" to deliver the message to. If that user does not exist, the mail server may "bounce" the message back to the sender, saying "That user does not exist".

Most bounced messages are cause because the writter of the email typed in the wrong email adddress.
