RenoGeek's Computer Terms Glossary - Cache
Cache stores recently-used information to a place where it may be re-accessed fast. Some programs like Web browsers use cache memory to store some of the pages and images you have viewed so you do not need to re-download them again on your next visit to the site.
Other types of cache are disk caches. That store information you have already read from your hard discs in the computers memory. Then you also have the CPU cache which stores information used often right in the processor, thereby taking less time to do common computing tasks.
