CD's also know as "Compact Discs." are small circular discs used to store data.

There are audio CDs, which were the first type of CD and then came data CD's or CD-ROM's which could be used on computers.

Today there are also CD-R (recordable) and CD-RW (Read / Write) which can be erased and reused a number of times.
